Black Mountain Camp was founded by nature lovers who dreamed of creating a peaceful retreat in the heart of Maine's wilderness. Our mission is to provide guests with a unique opportunity to disconnect from the modern world and reconnect with nature, friends, and themselves.
We believe in sustainable living, simple pleasures, and the healing power of the forest. Our camp offers a true wilderness experience with tent camping and adventurous exploration of our private mountain. While there's an old logging trail, most of the mountain is wild terrain perfect for those seeking a real outdoor adventure.
At the base of the mountain, we maintain a sanctuary farm where we care for rescued and friendly farm animals including pigs, geese, chickens, and other creatures in a peaceful, natural environment. This farm reflects our commitment to compassionate animal care and sustainable living.

Black Mountain
Our camp sits on the beautiful, privately owned Black Mountain - a peaceful retreat with no crowds or other hikers.
The mountain can be hiked from any part of the west side, offering varying levels of challenge depending on your chosen route. The hike to the summit takes 15-30 minutes and can be somewhat challenging but is incredibly rewarding.
At about 1,100 feet elevation, the summit provides commanding views over long distances, including spectacular vistas of the White Mountains, Kezar Lake, and the surrounding wilderness beyond.
The privacy of the mountain makes it a perfect place to relax, meditate, or simply enjoy the solitude of nature without any distractions.
